a dramamine dreams that kept them alive but lost
For the past couple of days, I've gone to sleep ridiculously early and gotten up before 6 AM. So very strange...
'The Summer Tree' came yesterday, so I can start rereading the Fionavar Tapestry! I'd forgotten how good it is...I should try to find more books by Guy Gavriel Kay.
My life is ridiculously boring...I've been mostly reading, filling out job applications, and thinking about I-Con. Can't wait to see you guys!
E didn't get into Northwestern :( She found out yesterday and got really upset, saying that she wouldn't get into Duke if she didn't get into Northwestern and she wouldn't be able to go to college at all. When Mom came home and found out, she made the mistake of calling Ray before looking in on E, which made E really mad...she yelled at Mom about dating screwed-up, alcoholic guys and making guys a higher priority than her children. Mom was upset about that but had to go to help Ray do something or other...she promised us before she left that she wouldn't bring Ray back since E was so wrought up.
While Mom was gone, E's guidance counselor called--she had emailed someone she knew in the Sarah Lawrence financial aid department, who had emailed back saying that all they needed was documentation from the guidance counselor that Dad wouldn't fill out the form. We're all confused about this because other people in the f.a. department had told Mom and the guidance counselor that they didn't waive the non-custodial parent form requirement ever, but whatever. So, E may get financial aid from Sarah Lawrence after all! That cheered her up a bit, which was good because Mom came home with Ray in tow. Both E and I were angry about that--not so much that Ray was here, but that Mom broke her promise...especially since Mom didn't know that the guidance counselor had called, so for all Mom knew E was still in bed crying. Oh, and did I mention that Ray is opening drinking again? So much for Mom's declaration that she 'wouldn't be around him while he was drinking'. *sigh*
Alright, that's enough complaining for now. And yes, feel free to bypass my whining if you wish.
More Fionavar Tapestry now. Later, all!
P.S. B, I've stolen your icon, as you can see. It's just so pretty!
