[insert hysterical laughter here]
Mar. 13th, 2009 12:03 amOkay, this may be the late hour talking (and I swore I would get to bed earlier tonight - at least tomorrow is Friday, sigh). Or we could just say it's Julie's fault.
BUT
This has just gone to the top of my Netflix queue. THE TOP.
Netflix summary: The title alone should give clear indication that viewers are in for one eccentric ride with Minoru Kawasaki's hilarious directorial effort. A gargantuan squid (Osamu Nishimura) who's captured the hearts of wrestling fans everywhere by winning the championship becomes the object of a sweet young woman's (Kana Ishida) affection. But when other sea creatures start gunning for his throne, he must defend his supremacy without losing his love.
I could not be more excited to see this movie, guys.
(As to why this is Julie's fault - under her auspices, a group of us watched another movie by this same director on Wednesday. The movie is called Executive Koala, in case anyone wanted to YouTube/Netflix it. If Calamari Wrestler is even half as amazing as Executive Koala, I will be satisfied.)
