1. Celtx is awesome. Free script-writing software that is incredibly easy to use? Yes please.

2. Once you get into the swing of it (and actually decide on plot points, cough cough), script writing is actually not too difficult. I have just under 4 pages so far. Whee! As a movie, it will be terrible, but as a script-writing exercise, it's kind of fun.

3. So. Alice In Wonderland. Jason was teasing me that my 'review' of it was quickly becoming irrelevant since it's been out for weeks now. So I finally sat down and finished it.

I was really happy that was that I was able to watch Wonderland with my sister, although Erica and I have very different tastes in movies; I respect her taste immensely even when I disagree with her. I have a higher tolerance for campiness, self-conscious humor, and 'typical Hollywood' (romantic subplots, glitz, etc). Erica, on the other hand, has a much higher tolerance for gratuitous violence, sex, and drug use, low-budget films, and general grittiness. I like to think this means that, if we both like a movie, it's a good sign of that movie's quality. On the other hand, when we turn to each other after a movie and tell each other earnestly, “That was AWFUL”, it's a pretty good bet that movie is bad.

You can see where I'm going with this. People who really liked Burton's Wonderland...may want to stop reading now.

The short version: The latest Alice In Wonderland is Tim Burton with zero respect for his audience and precious little respect for his source material.

Okay, bedtime. Later, all!

I'm really glad that LiveJournal spotlighted [livejournal.com profile] ontd_science because it has some really interesting stuff...but this freaks me out a little.

In other news, have a one-paragraph plot summary of my Script Frenzy script. Tonight: a more detailed treatment. Hopefully.

I have done absolutely nothing on my to-do list today except my laundry. Ah well. I did read, play some Pokemon SoulSilver (of course), and put on two separate makeup looks even though I never actually left the house - that's something, right?

Speaking of that, have I mentioned that I am seriously in lust with the Sugarpill cosmetics line? Especially the pressed eyeshadow collection 'Addicted to Pretty'? Because I am. I really, really should not spend any money on makeup right at the moment, but the colors are ridiculously bright and gorgeous and I want them. Especially Poison Plum, Love+, Buttercupcake, and Afterparty (wouldn't say no to Dollipop or Tako either).

In other news, we saw 'How to Train Your Dragon' last night and it was awesome. Anyone putting $5 on Vikings being the new 'big thing'? Also, the main character's dragon was adorable beyond words.

Script Frenzy starts Thursday. Oh dear. I've been considering doing a comedic murder mystery (sort of like Murder by Death, except I didn't actually like Murder By Death, because apparently I am a heathen) set at a thinly fictionalized PCM. But I'm not sure how it would work out to do a story full of characters so firmly based on real people (who are my friends, to boot). I am afraid I'd feel horrible if I portrayed any of them as less than awesome (because they are awesome) and would also be paralyzed over 'would X *really* do that?' questions.

I need to think more about this - but tomorrow, as it's already past my bedtime. Night!

Occasionally, when I am procrastinating online, I will reread some of my back entries in LJ. (Especially the tagged ones - I should just suck it up and go through and tag all of my posts.) And I always think that my LJ posts were much better 'back in the day'. Not the first few months I had it, but after that...yeah. My LJ has become extremely lame. Sadness.

Part of the problem is that I hardly ever post, which then makes me feel like I shouldn't post unless I have 'something big to announce'. It's hard to get back into the habit of just talking about what I'm doing on a day-to-day basis.

That being said, I am hardcore procrastinating on Script Frenzy (I should have 16.33 pages by today, and I have...3 *headdesk*) so welcome back to Ama's Excitingly Boring Life. And since I haven't been posting much RL stuff - it's going to be a fairly an extremely long entry.

Ack, it's almost 2 AM. Definitely past my bedtime. Night, all!

EDITED TO ADD: Something, again, stolen from [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda. As if the Caius thing wasn't weird enough, now the kid who played Anthony in Sweeney Todd may also be portraying...Grindelwald? Really? I mean, I know we pretty much only 'see' him when he's young and all, but...really? This is the second most...the guy who essentially seduced...I can't think of anything relevant AND non-spoiler-y to say about the character, but...REALLY? I don't see it, guys. (Although Cleo is right - if this is true, the kid has the best agent EVER.)

So, being that it's almost April 1, I am probably not going to believe anything even slightly implausible until sometime Thursday. Friends list, please hold off on any important announcements until April 2, 'kay?

In all fairness, I probably won't be online to see any potential pranks anyway, since Script Frenzy starts in...just under two and a half hours. AHHHH.

And finally, because what is my LJ without random Twilight posts? I will grant that the Volturi's head vamps are supposed to be fairly young and attractive. I am fairly certain that they are referenced as such in the first book (though I am far too lazy to actually check it). And yet, somehow, this was not exactly how I pictured Caius. Cue fangirl screeching in three, two...

(Also, the fact they they still haven't even released the full cast list for a movie that is scheduled to come out in less than 8 months? HILARIOUS.)

(And in non-Twilight vampire-media news, they're making a made-for-TV movie out of...the Anita Blake books? That should be, um, interesting.)

(Sorry, one last thing stolen from [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda. Look at this picture. Then look at it again. That's A DOLL. I am torn between wanting to buy it (even though it's going to be ridiculously expensive) and wanting to run far, far away.)
