Happy Fathers Day, y'all! My sister is 'celebrating' by doing my dad a favor and driving him to Bangor. Mom tried to tell me that since E was up late last night, I should take over giving him the drive. Um....no. (Note: E JUST walked in here and asked if I wanted to come. My response was, "Here's the thing. I never want to see Dad again. So, that would be awkward")

Had the last PCM 'meeting' last night. Two weeks, ah! It wasn't a real meeting--in previous years it's been the scheduling meeting but Julie had each department head do schedules for his/her department this year, so it was only bag stuffing. Well, 'only' bag stuffing--it's pretty intense. (Don't laugh until you stuff 1500 bags). Then we went and ate Chinese food.

Heat! It's hot out! I'll be tired of it by August, but after weeks of rain, the heat is most welcome.

Since I was down at Julie's store, Weekend Anime, I broke down and bought some manga ^.^ Death Note, as I raved to K via text message, is even more OMG AMAZING than previous volumes. Cannot *wait* for volume 7....let's see. W Juliet volume 11--I would be losing patience with this series IF it wasn't for two things. One is that the mangaka has committed to not having this go on forever (like, say, Hana-Kimi) and has set a very clear deadline for herself within the story. The second is that the main love story is beautiful and very genuine. Nana volume 3 but I've already read it, I just buy it because lending people the tankoban is a lot more convenient than lending them 12 volumes of Shojo Beat. And Full Moon volume 6--another CANNOT WAIT FOR VOLUME 7! You know you're approaching the end of a manga series when everyone starts to pair up (WakaojixOshige! *squeals*) Oh, and my subject line is from Full Moon 6....but I won't tell who says it, as it is a SPOILER.

Um, speaking of manga, did everyone see this post? Write for Tokyopop! I would apply but I'm not really much of a writer.....

I should probably get offline and stop tying up the phone line >_< Later, all!

I would have helped stuff bags *sigh*

The deadline for TokyoPop is tomorrow . . . I wonder what they would do if I sent one of my law school writing assignments as a sample *snicker* I'd probably get hired into the wrong department. In all actuality, TokyoPop does not want me to write for them. I will say nasty, nasty things about "world manga" and quality assurance and OMG PUBLISH DRAMACON #2 RIGHT NOW! *ahem* I know my anime/manga purity could not survive a clash with bureaucracy . . . but damn, it's still tempting.

Too tempting, in fact >_> Maybe I applied . . . *cough* I have a good concept, too: columns on the history/politics/culture behind the context of anime or manga series. i.e. what the Shinsengumi really were, the development of anime conventions, various bits on Korea so the rest of us can understand manwha, etc.

Of course, I'm sure they'll take one look at the resume and the legal writing sample (I sent in some fiction too, but still) and forward me to the legal department. Sigh. I want to have free rant space an excuse to research things that AREN'T legal for a change!
