Ah, Monday. Work is annoying yet leavened with black humor (like the guy who, I kid you not, LITERALLY asked for a million dollars in compensation for lost time and data. Well, five hundred thousand to a million dollars. A day. You can imagine.)
My current project is making Chinese flashcards (from whole notecards, for those of you who remember the whole 'tiny pieces of paper as flashcards' phase I went through). I've lost so much vocabulary *sweatdrop* At least it's coming back to me.
My other 'project' is worrying about my career ^.^ Suddenly my 'future' isn't in the nebulous future--it's four semesters away! (Or possibly even three, but let's not get into that right now). Gah! Basically, I have four choices. One, I could apply for the Foreign Service right out of Colgate. I'd actually prefer not to do this--I'd like to get more real-world experience and strengthen my language skills before I apply. Two, I join the Peace Corps. This is the choice that appeals to me the most, but I'm afraid I don't have a lot of usable skills. Third option is grad school. I do want to go to grad school, but LOANS, argh. Fourth possibility is for me to do...something else relating to China. Okay, that's pretty broad, but I guess it boils down to me either doing something in China for a Chinese company or doing something in China for a multinational company. I really don't know enough about those types of jobs to comment about them.... (But I still want to join the Foreign Service eventually! I have visited the State Department's FSO website sooo many times)
Random, but--hey, K, since you've read MeruPuri, you could write a few comments about it for the
colgateanime review....
PCM in three days!
I found an almost-lolita-esque skirt yesterday. It's brown, which is not really a lolita color, but it's very cute. But when, oh when, will Candy Violet release their skirt line? *sigh*
I've completely run out of things to talk about. I also need to finish the handout for K's and my panel *squeals* Later, all!

Date: 2006-06-27 09:49 am (UTC)But the sheer number makes me shudder when I think about how badly I need to review them all...
I vote you find an international company and work there for two years and have them pay for grad school...thats my plan. They exist and it is totally worth the stress even if you have to go to night school.
Good luck at PCM and I wish that you find the skirt magically leaping into your bag without you needing to pay for it ^_^
