So, I haven't posted in forever. And by forever, I mean a bit less than two weeks, which is close enough to forever in LiveJournal land. Basic summary of my life:

Week of Theater Insanity: Usually, when I say 'I have no time to do X', I mean 'I don't think I can fit it into my schedule, with the homework and so on that I have to do' and so on. Not this week. It was literally, I was BOOKED all day, every day, until midnight or later (the joys of tech week). That's booked up, BEFORE homework, so homework basically started after midnight every night. Sleep was a rare and precious commodity. I wasn't miserable or anything, but it was tiring.

About the show: Drums in the Night, a bleak 'comedy' written during the interwar period by a German playwright, but the version we did had been modernized. We had a 'special guest director' hired specifically for this show. I had mixed feelings about her. On one hand, she was very good at drawing out a wonderful performances from the actors. On the technical side--I didn't have huge problems with her; my main gripes were that she put impossible things on the props list 'just in case we can do it somehow' (like 15 TVs and a 3 ft neon sign, along with all of the small things you need for a show, on a $1000 props budget), and that she added new props to my list very late into production (as in, the night before final dress rehearsal). Still, she was more reasonable than some other directors with whom I've worked--about props at least.....let's just say, Sumner threatened to quit at LEAST three or four times during production week. In any case, it came out very well.

Week of Academic Insanity: Last Saturday evening after the second showing of Drums, I was happy that my prop-acquiring spree was at an end. Then I looked at my calender and realized I had three midterms and a presentation this week. Much studying commenced. At the same time I was trying to finish applications for two summer internship/study type programs. I also wasn't completely done with Drums, as I had to wash and iron these gigantic tableclothes before every performance (which were Monday through Thursday nights).

It's almost sad that my ENTIRE life for two weeks can be summed up as 'props, then studying'. Ah well, I enjoyed it even though it was hectic. And tomorrow (today...in about 8 hours) I'll be on my way to the Great Spring Break Trip of Awesomeness (GSBToA) and TOKYO! I still can hardly believe it. I doubt I'll have much internet access there, so have a good week, everyone! (Except for K and B--I will see you SOON, OMG!)

P.S. Here is how much Bien is stressed and doesn't want to deal with extra work: she DID NOT assign us homework for over break. Bien, who assigns homework over CHRISTMAS break. We were all amazed.
