Working on the Health Review part of the PC application. Despite it being basically me clicking an endless series of 'no's, it's sort of fun in the same way that blood donation questionnaires are, where you keep going 'wow, I didn't know there could be so many things wrong with one's body!

By far, my favorite question is this one.

Do you currently have
-Iron deficiency anemia (y/n)
- A low platelet count (y/n)
-A missing spleen (y/n)

Really? A missing spleen? There are Peace Corps applicants out there WITHOUT SPLEENS?

Excuse me while I crack up. That's awesome. It's also reminding me of my first paper for History of the English Language, which was a translation from an Herbarium. I did the entry on spleenwort, so named because it dissolves spleens, and once upon a time, if your spleen was bothering you, you'd be prescribed spleenwort. Spleens. Apparently, if you can't live with them, you CAN live without them.
