A quick report from the first day of my very first NaNoWriMo ever.

Cups of coffee drunk: 5

Actual meals eaten: 1 (bacon and toast counts as breakfast, right?)

Number of times I've gotten discouraged at my lack of writing skill: 3

Number of procrastinating visits to the NaNo forums: 6

Amount of candy I bought on post-Halloween sale for the specific purpose of eating during NaNo: I plead the Fifth.

And most importantly....

Words written: 4,261

All in all, not a bad first day. Tomorrow is my first official write-in. Whee! Now, to attempt to get to sleep with caffeine still coursing through my bloodstream, heh.

Huzzah! (Also, even though my trip to the grocery store today was to pick up ginger ale and crackers because I wasn't feeling well and didn't have anything stomachable in the house, I definitely bought five bags of candy on sale while I was at it. No shame.) Godspeed, and keep the updates coming!

Candy sales after Halloween are a joy forever, hehe. Hope you feel better!

how many words are you *supposed* to write in a day in an ideal world?

I can't say that I approve of this mass writing campaign
*shakes head*

Are you going to type and drive next weekend? LOL

You could get a little recorder and narrate your book on the drive down
(helpful hint?)

Im blathering

But I guess that's okay

In order to reach 50,000 words in the month of November, you need to write an average of 1,667 words a day.

NaNoWriMo is actually a pretty amazing thing. But hey, to each his/her own.

LOL, I'll just think about my story on the drive down (large parts of my plot are still vague to nonexistent). But I will bring my laptop and try to write in the morning/at random times during the weekend. (Can't wait!)

I won't be down today. BAH. I have to go to work around 1 and that means I have free time from 10 AM on. I want my free time. ;)

BUT. Dude. Next weekend is looking promising. PROMISING!

Free time is indeed precious - I completely understand. How is the writing going for you?

I actually won't be there next Sunday :( I'm going down to CT to see some friends. But I'll see you the week after that, if you can make it?

I'll skip this weekend then and shoot for the weekend after. Writing is going well :)
