it's not very practical, but it still pays the bills

Wow. It's been a month and a half since I've posted. That's CRAZY...possibly the longest I've gone without posting since I got LJ my freshman year at 'Gate.

One note from 'long ago'--lacontessa11 sent me the new Terry Pratchett book, Making Money, for my birthday. SIGNED! OMGYAY! There was a lot of squealing and hugging. I liked it--one of Pratchett's creepier books, though. But Moist von Lipwig=Adam Smith? What other fantasy author would write an entire book about MONETARY POLICY? Terry Pratchett is amazing, but we knew that already.

Nutcracker, as has been previously noted, ate my life. It's probaby the number one reason I haven't been posting. I was not only the stage manager, but the producer AND publicist (including designing the posters and programs) AND one of the costumers (all non-tutus were my job).

So, I went home for Thanksgiving just for the relaxation, but spent most of it trying to work on my Chinese Economy paper (topic: China's economic relationship with North Korea). Then this past week was tech week for Nutcracker. If I thought Nutcracker had consumed me before....wow. I was absolutely obsessed. There was just SO MUCH to do.

And now...it's over. The last performances were today. And the show went really well, which makes me happy, but I put everything else off and now I have a huge backlog of work that I need to complete now. (For example, I have a 5 page paper and a powerpoint presentation due Monday, which is technically today). I really, really want to take a break but I can't.

Also, I think it's really hit me that I'm graduating in two weeks. I'm not sure if I'm more scared or sad. AND I want to be able to spend time hanging out with friends since I won't be seeing them a lot in the near future...but yes, massive amounts of work.

And so...I'm procrastinating. Go me. OMG no time!
