Oh, Microdyne

This job is going to be so bad for my temper. *sigh* I should have acted slightly incompetent, then they would have left me just doing the main (tech support) contract forever and not cross-trained me for this EVIL customer service contract. The customers are horrible, we have no power to do pretty much ANYTHING, and worst of all the managers (not my Microdyne manager, but our contacts at the company who's 'hired' Microdyne) just do not respond to our requests. I have a customer whose order has been lost in transit since March 5. I requested a new item to be shipped out (or at least a claim filed w/the carrier) last Thursday. We are supposed to hear back within 48 hours (during business days, of course). No response.
(Also, I am transitioning into being in charge of customer emails. And Kana, the email program, has been down--NO ONE can log onto it to see the emails we have received--for three days. I think the entire Kana server has crashed, meaning we have irretrievably lost ALL unanswered customer emails. This does not thrill me either.)
Anyway. In other news, I am trying to decide how I feel about this tee-shirt. On the one hand, it's kind of sad in a 'sad and pathetic' sort of way. On the other hand, it's true. (Although Spike has never been an 'ideal guy' to me, but the principle holds.)
This morning when I hit the snooze on my cell phone alarm, I was still half dreaming and imagining that I was sending text messages. To FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. It's so bizarre to wake out of that kind of half-dream, when you were sort of awake but not really, and wonder what was going through your head.
Speaking of which, it's about time for bed for me. I'll probably have to leave early tomorrow anyway since it'll be snowing and the roads will be terrible. Later, all!

Date: 2008-03-20 05:05 am (UTC)Hmmm. I have mixed feelings about the shirt as well, although I'm leaning negative. Spike is an interesting character, but I feel like dating him wouldn't really lead to an incredibly healthy relationship (in addition to the fact that he wouldn't love the otaku girl, considering that he's pretty obviously in love with someone else). Also, I honestly don't think that anime has affected my standards at all. In fact, my preferred anime men have changed based on real-life men, rather than my preferred real-life men changing based on anime. Seriously, before Dan, I would have been a Sasuke fangirl. I kid you not. But post-Dan, I am very clearly a Rock Lee fangirl for life, and I'm actually marrying Shikamaru (seriously, the man is literally both a genius AND the laziest man I've ever met.), who is not threatening to women in the slightest. It's so clear that his misogynism is all talk and Temari walks all over him :) I want to write more WSC right now!!! Stupid final tomorrow.

Date: 2008-03-21 06:23 am (UTC)Kana came back up today, actually, and we DIDN'T lose those emails. Which is good, because now we can respond and people won't get mad that they never heard back. But it also means we have literally 200 emails that need responses, and I need to do them all tomorrow.
Yeah, the more I think about the shirt the less I'm a fan. Although the grain of truth is that I (and I know other girls do this) DO fall for fictional men occasionally.
WSC! I keep randomly finding pop songs that fit your characters.
